Encore Ceramics and First Call Resolution of Grants Pass, along with Croman Corp and Carestream Health of White City were honored. The agency also honored Dennis Donnelly of KDP Certified Public Accountants. Encore Ceramics of Grants Pass won the Tenacity Award, recognizing the company for making great strides despite uncontrollable circumstances for several years. Recruited to the region by SOREDI in 2001, Encore Ceramics has regained pre-recession sales levels and employs 65 people, an all-time high. First Call Resolution of Grants Pass won the Prosperity Award. The call center expanded in 2013 and now employs more than 300 customer service representatives with a $5.6 million dollar payroll. First Call, recruited by SOREDI in 2009, has been named one of the best places to work in Oregon for the past three years. The Ingenuity Award went to Carestream Health for development of its new FLEXX Transparent Conductive films used by the touch panel industry. Carestream, a $2.5 billion-revenue unit of Canadian conglomerate Onex, has 350 employees at its White City plant. Croman Corp. of White City walked away with the Collaboration Award. Croman, one of Oregon’s five heavy-lift helicopter firms, is working with Southern Nuclear Operating Co. to establish emergency plans for all 60 nuclear reactor sites in the United States, in the event of a major earthquake or other disaster. A key component of the emergency plan is the ability to move equipment from response centers to the plants within 24 hours, even when roads around the plants are impassable. Emergency equipment being stored at the response centers would be lifted by helicopters during the operations. Croman worked with the Federal Aviation Administration in developing flight plans for each of the nuclear plants that would allow immediate approval for deployment. Dennis Donnelly, co-founder and partner of KDP Certified Public Accountants, received the Inspiration Award. The Southern Oregon University graduate has been a member of SOREDI's loan committee for 20 years, making him the longest standing member of any of the organization's committees. He has played a role in the approval process for all 220 loans SOREDI has made.
