Charles Steven Schnell, 69, who had been camping on his boat at the reservoir, was reported missing Wednesday. A deputy found his body that day in the water at the north end of the lake, but his boat was missing. On Friday, Sheriff's Office searchers located the 22-foot boat under about three feet of water near the shore about a half mile downstream from where the Schnell's body was found. A boat accident reconstruction team from the Oregon State Marine Board determined there had been a fire on the boat. The reconstruction team and divers from the Klamath County Sheriff's Office used sonar in searching for the boat for two days. The reconstruction team includes deputies from Jackson, Multnomah and Lane counties. Search and rescue members from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office also participated in the search.
