Red Hot Blues Jan 13, 2005 12:00 AM A A Blues in Ashland in January means more than just chill — from the weather, especially during the Fifth Annual Rogue Valley Blues — Festival, Jan. 14 to 16. Main events, which include Friday evening's acoustic — concert, Saturday evening's dance and Saturday and Sunday workshops, take — place at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland. Doors open — Friday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. for a barbecue/Cajun dinner sold by King — Concessions. Beer and wine will be sold. — New this year is the Blues School for Kids of All Ages — at the Oregon Stage Works Theater in the A Street Marketplace. Designed — for kids, adults are welcomed to participate. The Blues School takes place — 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Local musicians are featured at Alex's — Restaurant and Standing Stone Restaurant from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday — and Sunday. These performances are free. — Admission to the RVBF is: $50/weekend pass, includes concerts — and workshops; $25/Friday evening only; $28/Saturday evening only; $15/each — workshop; and the Blues School is by donation.
