The veteran Washington rider registered three wins and two seconds on Saturday’s nine-race card at the Josephine County Fairgrounds. D’Amico retained his six victory edge for GP Downs leading jockey over second-place Joe Crispin, who also had three wins on the card. D’Amico has 24 wins through eight of the 19-day season. Crispin brought home the two biggest win prices on the day. He won a 4½ -furlong, $2,500 claimer on the 4-1 shot Texas Oil in the fifth race, then triumphed on Cee’s Dude, who returned $9.40 to win on a $2 bet, in the finale. Advertisement Today’s nine-race card features two 5½ -furlong thoroughbred stakes races. In the seventh, five 3-year-olds will will vie for a $3,550 purse, followed by a $3,500-added seven- horse field for 3-year-olds and up. Saturday’s handle of $34,168 was the low of the season.
