Kinney's 72 good for medal honor; South claims title ROSEBURG -- North Medford High junior Tai Kinney shot a 1-over-par round of 72 Monday and was medalist in a Southern Oregon Conference girls golf tournament at Roseburg Country Club. South Medford won the team title with a score of 376. Grants Pass was second at 380 and Roseburg third at 384. Kinney, who went out on the first nine in 35, defeated runner-up Johnna Nealy of Grants Pass by six strokes. Kacy Clark of South Medford and Kari Gerretsen of Roseburg tied for third place with 87s. The Mustangs' Derek Horning won medal honors with a 75 while teammate Steve Ewan finished at 77 and Marcus Omdahl at 78. Mazama took second with a 371 and was led by Jake Bruun's 80.
