Police said Isaac Deleon of Central Point was walking with his friends on Bartlett Street at 2:15 a.m. when they encountered three Hispanic men. The two groups began talking. Then, according to multiple witnesses, one of the Hispanic men shot Deleon in the chest. Deleon was dead when medical personnel arrived on scene. The three Hispanic men ran east and were last seen at Riverside Avenue near Eighth Street. All wore dark clothing, and the shooter wore a gray hooded sweatshirt. It is not known if the shooting is gang-related. The ongoing investigation closed Bartlett Street between Main Street and the Middleford Alley part of Sunday. Court records show Deleon, whose address is listed in the 2600 block of Parkwood Village Lane, was scheduled to go to trial Thursday on charges of manufacture, delivery and possession of methamphetamine and cocaine. He pleaded not guilty to those charges during his arraignment Aug. 28. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Medford police at 541-770-4783.
