Jackson County Fire District 3 crews arrived in the 4000 block of Brownboro Highway to find the Subaru Forester submerged up to its doors in the creek. The woman and her dog already had made it safely out of the water. The woman was transported by Mercy Flights to the hospital to be checked out. "She had some soreness," said sheriff's deputy Jillian Winston. "She just wanted to play it safe." Winston did not identify the driver, her age, her residence or why she was traveling on Brownsboro Highway. The woman was driving westbound on Brownsboro Highway when for unknown reasons the Subaru left the highway and became stuck in the water. Winston did not know how the Subaru ended up in the creek. The woman called 911 but was unsure at first where she was, Winston said. "It made it a little difficult," Winston said. The woman stayed on the line with dispatch, however, and was able to describe her location and that she saw a fire truck pass by. "We heard her yelling," Winston said. A dive team will be required to help get the Subaru out of the water, so the recovery effort will be conducted tomorrow, said Deputy Ben Fazio. The Subaru appeared to be stable, its wheels lodged in the rocks. "There's no hurry to get it out," Fazio said.
