Richard Miller Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Oct. 4, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Oct. 4, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Richard Miller Richard Albert Miller, 68, of Sams Valley passed away unexpectedly September 16, 2015 at Providence Medford Medical Center . He was born in Pensacola, Fla. to Albert Miller Jr. and Elizabeth (Hart) Miller. He graduated with a political science degree from the University of Utah. There he met and married Kathryn Gay, his first wife. They had four children. He spent 10 years in public affairs and sales for Hughes Air Corporation. In 1982, he married Jana Hogan and embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure, owning a restaurant and a Christmas tree farm in Concrete, Wash. In 2003, he moved to Sams Valley, where he and Jana purchased a farm. The farm was his prized possession. Every morning, he walked on the property in disbelief that he lived in such a beautiful place. He ended each day at their gazebo on the pond. He enjoyed playing golf, flying airplanes, and working on the many projects around the farm. He was beloved for his calm cheerfulness and admired for his ability to fix virtually anything. He is survived by his wife, Jana; children, Wendy Roberts (Cary) , Teri Halverson (Blair), Richard Miller Jr., and Ryan Miller (Kristen); his sister, Judy (Miller) Murphy; and six beautiful grandchildren. A celebration of his life is being planned for early next June. Memorial donations are suggested toward the Britt Endowment Fund. (541) 690-3853.
