Spain, a senior defensive back and wide receiver who was the Skyline’s offensive player of the year, made the third team on defense and gained honorable mention on offense. Spain had more than 700 receiving yards. Several other Skyline players received honorable mention, including Phoenix senior tailback Max Boots, who played only a third of the season. Boots averaged 233 yards rushing and scored 10 touchdowns the first three games, then suffered season-ending knee-ligament damage early in the Pirates’ fourth game. Advertisement Other Skyline players to receive honorable mention on offense were Hidden Valley senior tackle Greg Kendrick and North Valley junior tackle Brennan Olander.
