Boldovino outlasts Garrison to claim Shamrock Run title by FRANK SILOW CENTRAL POINT -- Damian Boldovino outdueled Tracy Garrison to win the 10K Shamrock Run Saturday at Crater High. Boldovino, 33, of Lakeview, posted a winning time of 33 minutes, 27 seconds. Garrison, 34, of Central Point, finished 36 seconds off the pace. Trevor Coolidge, 16, of White City, broke his own 5K record set last year. Coolidge's winning performance was timed at 16:47. His previous mark was 16:58. J.J. Moses, 16, of Gold Hill, took second in the 5K at 17:34. Elena McKennon, 36, of Central Point, was the top woman 10K runner. McKennon's winning time was 44:09. Phoenix's Rebecca Cortell placed second at 44:40. Bobbi Wright of Gold Hill won the women's 5K with a mark of 20:38. Wright, 17, finished 41 seconds ahead of Rogue River High track teammate Lauren Fety. Bob Rose of Grants Pass won the wheelchair division in a time of 38:52. Cory Hartgrave, 19, of Grants Pass, was second at 49:50. Seven age-group records were set in the two races. The 10K records were recorded by Gary Clarida of Rogue River in men's 50-59 (36:20), Ken Oliver of Medford in men's 70-79 (55:32) and Merrill Barneby of Ashland in the men's 80-plus (1:31:31). Records for the 5K were set by Kyle Gillette of Medford in 14-under (18:30), Ron Alonzo of Medford in men's 50-59 (18:41) and Bill Hutchinson of Eagle Point in men's 80-plus (30:27).
