Challengers stay perfect in Holy Bowl WHITE CITY -- Jack Cook did his part in keeping Cascade Christian's record unblemished in the Holy Bowl. Cook excelled on both sides of the line of scrimmage as the Challengers defeated St. Mary's 36-6 in the fifth-annual football game Friday at the V.A. Domiciliary's Memorial Field. Cook scored on a 53-yard touchdown run during a 22-0 Cascade explosion in a 6:53 span of the second quarter and led the Challengers' ground attack with 125 yards on nine carries. The 180-pound senior middle linebacker also sparked a defensive effort, along with fellow linebacker Nick Ristow, that limited St. Mary's to 4 yards rushing in the first half and 60 for the game. Damon Prins added a pair of 10-yard touchdown runs in the second quarter that sent the Challengers into the locker room at halftime with a 22-0 lead. The Challengers added a 7-yard TD run by Brian Hammers in the third quarter to take a commanding 29-0 lead. Hammers rushed for 65 yards on 13 carries in the contest. St. Mary's quarterback Rick Gibson accounted for the Crusaders lone touchdown on a 1-yard keeper in the third quarter. Cascade Christian (2-6, 2-2 SCL) amassed 279 yards on the ground and 39 passing for 318 total yards. St. Mary's (3-5, 1-3 SCL) produced 101 yards in offense. Stockton scored on runs of 30 and 70 yards, while Smith scored on receptions of 23 and 70 yards and Irwin scored on a 12-yard run and an 80-yard reception. Mark Lunsford added a 30-yard TD run and Charlie McLauchlan chipped in a 31-yard TD run to pace Butte Falls. Chuck Robey scored both touchdowns for North Lake.
