It's part of the national Subaru "Love Promise" effort to assist community organizations and people in need. “These patients need something besides medicine in their fights against leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma,” Randy Nidalmia, general manager of Southern Oregon Subaru, said in a release. “These blankets give caretakers something warm and comforting to give patients. These blankets are just one way we’re ‘Showing the Love’ in the community as we partner with LLS in this most worthwhile endeavor.” The LLS is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The organization funds blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services, and educational programs for patients, their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals. Southern Oregon Subaru is a participant in the national Subaru Love Promise in which dealers partner with nonprofit education, health, community, environmental and animal welfare organizations. Other local Southern Oregon Love Promise activities have included projects with SO Humane, Youth for Christ, Redemption Ridge and Sparrow Club.
