Johnson's hat trick fuels Mustangs KLAMATH FALLS -- Hat tricks for Matt Johnson are becoming old hat. The speedy Hidden Valley forward recorded his fifth hat trick of the season Saturday as the Mustangs blanked Henley 4-0 in District 6 boys soccer. "He (Johnson) is a true scorer," Hidden Valley coach Charlie Seal said. "This kid has a sense where the defense is going to be. He's fast. Nobody can really keep up with him." Johnson struck in the third minute when he took a pass from Jon Morse and connected from 15 yards out. "It gets a team down when they're scored on so early," said Seal. Johnson got the game's second goal at the 17th minute off an assist from Kenny Pipher. Mike Muneyyirci's goal on a penalty kick completed the first- half scoring. Johnson collected his third goal early in the second half with help from Muneyyirci. Seal credited midfielders Muneyyirci, Seth GeRay and Jon Wright with controlling the tempo in the Mustangs' favor. Sweeper Scott Palmer also flourished in the defensive zone. "He (Palmer) won every header and he cleaned everything up that came through," Seal said.
