I thought Costco was going to the Central Point Planning Commission in December, but I have seen anything about it in your paper. Can you fill us in? — Geoff S., Jacksonville The December Planning Commission meeting date was predicated on the Community Development Department reviewing Costco Wholesale's application to build a 161,992-square-foot warehouse and fuel station on 18.28 acres in Federal Way Business Park on the southwest corner of Table Rock Road and Hamrick Road. That happened on Nov. 11. However, the extensive traffic impact analysis study accompanying the application necessitated a longer period of time to give all the appropriate parties a chance to weigh in. As a result, the Issaquah, Wash.-based warehouse membership chain's application is now on the 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, Planning Commission agenda. Notice of a public hearing was issued Dec. 14 with all the nearby neighbors contacted. The Planning Commission will consider a conditional use permit, a Site Plan And Architectural Review application, and a variance in city sign standards. The commission is seeking written comments until the close of the Jan. 5 meeting. Written comments may be sent before the meeting to Central Point City Hall, 140 South Third St., Central Point, OR 97502 or by e-mail to [email protected] .
