The day's events will include: 9 a.m. — Commemoration ceremony at the Oregon Fallen War Heroes Memorial at Don Jones City Park on Hammrick Road in Central Point. Guest speakers include Congressman Greg Walden and state Rep. Duane Stark, R-Grants Pass, whose district includes Central Point. 10 a.m. — Walden will also make remarks at the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics in White City. Held in the SORCC theater, the event will include comments from Southern Oregon University President Roy H. Saigo, a mini-concert by the Rogue Valley Symphonic Band, ceremonies remembering Oregon’s fallen heroes, children’s patriotic activities, veterans information booths and a refreshment social. For more information, see www.southernoregon.va.gov . 11 a.m. — Medford Veterans Day Parade will travel along Main Street from Hawthorne Park to Oakdale Avenue. The event will include car clubs, veteran's groups, Cub Scouts and other community organizations. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — The Josephine County Veteran Service Office will provide a free lunch to veterans to honor their commitment and military service. The lunch will be in the Josephine County Courthouse, Anne Basker Building, 600 N.W. Sixth St., Grants Pass. Noon to 4 p.m. — Cub Scouts from Central Point Pack 50 will collect donations for veterans at Ray's Food Place, 126 E. Pine St., Central Point. The scouts will collect treats and small gifts for veterans at the Veterans Affairs Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics in White City.
