Raiders split doubleheader with Chico State CHICO, Calif. � Erin Eastman�s sacrifice fly for Southern Oregon University ended a 14-inning, Game 2 affair and left the Raiders with a softball doubleheader split with Chico State on Saturday. SOU�s 3-2 win in the nightcap avenged a 9-0, five-inning loss in Game 1. Brandi Brown atoned for a rough first game by striking out seven and surrendering only two runs over 13 innings of work. She improved to 9-6 on the season. In Game 1, Brown lasted only two innings and yielded six runs. Latisha Inget and Stacey Marshall had two hits apiece for the Raiders in the nightcap. On Friday, SOU split a doubleheader against Dominican College. The Raiders (9-8) won the opener 1-0 behind the pitching of Brown. They dropped the nightcap 5-0. Brown allowed six hits, struck out four and walked two in the first game. The Raiders scored their run in the second inning when Angie Chaplin walked and Lisa Aitchison reached on an error to put runners at first and second bases. A sacrifice bunt by Angie Barnado moved the runners up, and Chaplin scored on Stacey Marshall�s sacrifice fly to center field. Southern Oregon (10-9) plays its first home games in a 3 p.m. doubleheader Monday against Patten College.
