Earl was born August 9, 1926 in Monterey, Calif. to Hollen Barnhart and Chloe Lancaster Barnhart. Earl Hollen Barnhart and Jean Francis Denman were married January, 1951 in Medford, Ore. Earl served with the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. On returning home he attended Southern Oregon University, receiving a teaching degree. He then taught in Guam for four years before returning to the states where he spent the majority of his teaching career in the Central Point School District. His last years as an educator were spent at Scenic Jr. High as a counselor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf. Earl is survived by his sister, Opal Kickbush; three children, Richard Duane (Peggy) Barnhart of Oroville, Calif., Earl Christopher Barnhart of St. Louis, Mo., and Karen Jean (Mike) Brown of Portland, Ore.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Ice; and wife of 57 years, Jean. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite animal-friendly organization of choice.
