Ashland man indicted in sex abuse case By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Jan 18, 2022 03:07 PM A A Police looking for additional victims Hutchinson A Jackson County Grand Jury on Tuesday indicted a 64-year-old Ashland man, for first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree sexual abuse and felony delivery of marijuana to someone younger than age 21 and police are searching for more potential victims. Frederick Mark Hutchinson, of 200 block of Fifth Street, Ashland, was arrested Thursday and remains in the Jackson County Jail for $150,000 bail. “For months leading up to these crimes, Hutchinson actively ‘groomed’ his victim, a 14-year-old boy,” according to the Ashland police press release that was sent out Tuesday afternoon. Police believe there may be more victims. People with additional information are asked to contact Ashland Police Det. Dan Moulin at 541-552-2178. Hutchinson’s mugshot was sent out with the announcement because police are trying to identify additional victims. The use of mugshots by law enforcement agencies in Oregon was sharply curtailed as of Jan. 1, but this purpose is allowed by House Bill 3273.
