Is my gauge wrong, or am I missing something? Craig L., Central Point Apparently, Craig you’re not missing any rain where you hail from. More than likely, there’s nothing wrong with your gauge because rainfall totals vary widely all over the valley. Officially, Medford gets 18.86 inches annually, measured at the airport, but anecdotal reports peg other parts of the county at anywhere from one-third to one-half again that amount. Just look at the difference between Medford and Ashland — and we’re not talking politically. Medford has come in with 19 inches of rain so far this year; Ashland has almost 26.
