Patterson, 81, of Central Point, Ore., passed away October 29, 2014 at her home. She was born February 21, 1933 in Burns, Ore. to Reuben and Opal Greenwood. Virginia lived in the Rogue Valley all her life, graduating from Medford High School in 1952. While growing up, she worked for Pacific Bell as a telephone operator and worked at Montgomery Wards as a sales clerk. Later in life, while raising her two sons, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and worked in a fabric store until she retired. Virginia was a member of the Hope Christian Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for 25 years. She married Howard F. Patterson in 1954 who preceded her in death in 2007. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004. She is survived by two sisters, Gale Maria Silva and Myrna Atteberry; and two sons, Forrest Howard Patterson and Steven Howard Patterson. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the West Main Church of Christ.
