Meyerding earns weekly honor for LC Lewis and Clark College's Todd Meyerding, a senior guard from South Medford High, parlayed uncanny shooting into the player-of-the-week award in Northwest Conference men's basketball. The 6-foot-1 Meyerding was 12-for-13 from the field -- including 5-for-5 on 3-pointers -- and scored 32 points in a 112-73 win over Puget Sound Christian Dec. 18. He also had four rebounds and three assists. The 3-point percentage tied the school record. The 32 points, mostly coming on outside jumpers, was a career high for him and the team's season high. Meyerding received the honor last week. Torrid shooting from Meyerding has been commonplace this winter. He's made 69 percent (61-for-89) of his field goals and 62 percent (18-for-29) of his 3-point shots. He leads the conference in field-goal percentage and is second in 3-point accuracy. Division III national statistics will be released for the first time in January. Meyerding averages 17.6 points and four rebounds a game. His award marks the third time in five weeks a Lewis and Clark player has won the honor. Jeff Auxier has twice been singled out.
