Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend March 19, 2006 Heidegger named to all-state team Josh Heidegger capped a successful boys basketball season at Cascade Christian with third-team all-state honors at the Class 2A level. Heidegger, a 6-foot-3 junior post, led the Challengers to a 20-7 record and a share of the Southern Cascade League title. Cascade Christian came within one game from qualifying for the eight-team state tournament. Heidegger averaged 11.6 points per game, which was second on the team. Junior Danny Derry was named player of the year after leading Oakland to the state championship, while Nyssa’s Larry Ramirez was tabbed coach of the year. Derry was joined on the first team by Santiam Christian’s Jeremy Bittner, Western Mennonite’s Travis Derochowski, Bandon’s Trenton Fraser and Portland Adventist’s Jonny Long. Lost River senior Heath Donahoe, a third-team selection, was the only other SCL competitor to make the list.
