Drop your child’s personal letter to Santa in the North Pole mailbox at Santo Community Center, or mail it to Medford Parks and Recreation, Attn: Santa, 701 N. Columbus Ave., Medford, 97501. The child’s letter must include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Santa will mail back a personalized letter in time for Christmas 2014. To ensure a timely response, letter requests must be received by Friday, Dec. 5. Mah Jongg: Experienced and beginner adults 50 and older are invited to play Mah Jongg, a tile game of Chinese origin, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Ashland Senior Center, 1699 Homes Ave., Ashland. SOU Percussion Ensembles: The percussion groups at Southern Oregon University, directed by Terry Longshore, will present “Contact,” featuring Daniel Kennedy of California State University, Sacramento and SOU percussion instructor Bryan Jeffs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, off South Mountain Avenue, Ashland. The program will include the premiere of Jeff's third installment of the Rebel Frog trilogy, "The Revel Frog Wassails, along with his "Contactual Constellations," performed by the SOU Graduate Percussion Group. "Contactual Constellations" is a work for graphic musical scores printed directly onto drumheads. Performances are captured on video and projected to the audience. Flamenco Concert: Seattle-based Flamenco dancer Savannah Fuentes will present her latest show, "Noches de Invierno," at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd. She will be joined by internationally recognized Flamenco singer Jose Anillo of Spain and Bulgarian guitarist Bobby de Sofia.
