Horstman finished with an 84 on the front nine and 79 on the back for a 163 in the event, which featured 55 competitors. Portland’s Scott Hval earned medalist honors with a 1-under-par 143, while John Cassidy, of Yelm, Wash., finished second with a 144. Both qualified for the Amateur Championship held in Pittsburgh on Aug. 16-24. Bowling Rosyne Gosch, 97, Medford’s oldest active bowler, posted a 491 series at Roxy Ann Lanes on July 17. Advertisement Chase Tester fired a 297 game, his highest ever, in the Reno League at Roxy Ann Lanes on July 23. Dave Mitchell rolled a 290 game in the Reno League at Medford Lanes on July 24. Frank and Dottie Villa took first place with a pin total of 1,435 in the Senior State Mixed Tournament in Hood River on July 12-20.
