Eagle Point subdivision near golf course approved EAGLE POINT -- Developer Reid Murphy got an OK from the Planning Commission this week to build 23 homes on Alta Vista Road near the Eagle Point Golf Course. The homes will average 2,000 square feet each and some will sit on estate-sized lots priced between $40,000 and $60,000. "It's in a mature, wooded area that's located directly across the street from the entrance to the Robert Trent Jones-designed golf course," Murphy says. Murphy, who lives outside of Eagle Point in Brownsboro, plans to begin building Pine Ridge subdivision as soon as the city gives final approval and the weather cooperates. "We may sell as lots or sell as customs," Murphy says. Murphy says Pine Ridge will be easy to access when the traffic signal is in place at the intersection of Highway 62 and Alta Vista Road. The traffic light is expected to be up by the summer, says John Vial, district manager for the Oregon Department of Transportation. Other amenities include the widening of Highway 62 and the building of Albertson's grocery store nearby, Murphy says. "It's a new area of development, the suburbs of Eagle Point," Murphy says. "You are not only part of Eagle Point community, but you are enjoying the countryside, the golf course and you are only 15 minutes from Medford," he says. Pine Ridge was originally called Oakwood until Jackson County Surveyor Roger Roberts checked his master list and discovered an Oakwood subdivision in Ashland.
