Rogue Valley items sell well on Internet auction services By David Preszler From Medford police uniform patches to historic pear labels and postcards, Rogue Valley collectibles have made their way into Internet auctions. A quick search of current and recently completed auctions at eBay ( www.ebay.com ) found a wide assortment of Southern Oregon wares being sold by people all over the country. Here are a few offerings: Someone from Walla Walla, Wash., this week sold a "vintage" sterling silver spoon with "Oregon" engraved in the handle and "Medford" in the spoon face. The price bid: $12.95. A seller in Salt Lake City sold a real photo postcard depicting the falls in Ashland's Lithia Park for $6 earlier this month. A 4-inch Medford police SWAT team patch went for $5.50, a plain Medford police patch for $2.76 and a Medford police traffic patch for $2. An Ashland PD patch, with swans on the Lithia Park pond, went for $11.50; the seller was from Ohio. A postcard of Ashland's Southern Pacific Depot that was mailed in 1914 sold for $15.50. Another Ashland postcard -- depicting a house with an American flag that has 46 stars (the seller says the number of stars indicates it was taken between 1908-1912) -- sold for $5.50. A historic picture postcard of Medford's Main Street drew 15 bids in an auction that closed Tuesday. The sale price: $11.50. A token from Ben's Billiards in Medford sold for $10.50. Southern Oregon Historical Society records couldn't pinpoint when the business operated. Lots of historic pear crate labels are being offered. Bids on a Table Rock Orchards, being sold by someone from Chico, Calif., start at $4. Three lots of three arrowheads each found in the Butte Falls area sold for $41.51, $34 and $22.50.
