Attempted murder charged in Shady Cove stabbing SHADY COVE - A Shady Cove woman was arrested early Saturday for allegedly trying to kill her husband. Catherine Sue Holt, 51, of 1 Meadow Lane, No. 1B, Shady Cove, was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault. Her bail was set at $2 million. David C. Bradley, 51, same address, was listed in serious condition Saturday night at Rogue Valley Medical Center, where he was receiving treatment for a 3-inch-long stab wound to the chest. An investigation by Jackson County sheriff's deputies showed that Bradley was stabbed in the upper right part of his chest with an 8-inch butcher knife while arguing with Holt in their residence at about 7 a.m. Saturday. Bradley told deputies that the couple was arguing because their home - a 35-foot travel trailer - was dirty. He said Holt broke a mirror over his head. Holt told deputies that Bradley had pinned her on the kitchen floor and was hitting her on the head, and that she was trying to defend herself. Holt did not call 911 or leave the trailer, deputies said. After Bradley was stabbed, he drove to the Shady Cove Chevron station. He told a station attendant that his wife had stabbed him and that he was getting gas before driving to the hospital. The attendant called police. Mercy Flights paramedics took Bradley to RVMC in an ambulance. Before Holt was arrested, she also was transported to RVMC at her request. Hospital staff told deputies they found no signs of injuries. Both Holt and Bradley emitted strong odors of an alcoholic beverage, according to a police report.
