Woman held after fires set in W. Medford A 44-year-old woman was detained on a psychiatric hold at Rogue Valley Medical Center after allegedly using gasoline to ignite two small fires late Saturday in west Medford. Police and fire personnel responded to a fire at 11:57 p.m. Sunday near a shed and a fence at 20 Peach St. Three minutes later, personnel were called to a fire in an alley near 22 Rose St. Both fires were quickly extinguished. Closer investigation revealed gasoline had been used to start the Peach Street fire and, possibly, the Rose Street fire. The Jackson County district attorney will review the cases this week for possible criminal charges. Mail Tribune Copyright The Mail Tribune 1998, Medford, Oregon USA
