I was just wondering whether the two men on ATVs that were riding on the bike path were cited for riding on the bike path? -- several readers via e-mail Astute readers and fans of the Bear Creek Greenway noted that all-terrain vehicles aren't allowed on the bike path, a rule Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winters confirms. However, Winters noted, the men threatened by a knife-wielding man Sunday live nearby on Table Rock Road and were riding in an empty field between their homes and the path, not on the Greenway itself. The armed man was on the path. Deputies didn't cite the ATV riders because there was no evidence they were riding on the path, he said.
