Whale Watch Week kicks off Dec. 27 on Oregon Coast Dec 19, 2014 12:00 AM A A The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will host a week of whale watching Dec. 27-31 at 24 designated sites along the Oregon Coast, including two close to Brookings. Whale Watch Week will have volunteers stationed at the sites from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help visitors spot gray whales traveling south. They also will teach about whale migration and feeding habits.
