Raider hoopsters rake in academic awards By SOU Sports Information Jan 24, 2017 12:00 AM A A Ten Southern Oregon University basketball players have been named to the Academic All-Cascade Conference team, which was released Tuesday by the league office. To be selected for the honor, one must have been enrolled at his or her current institution for at least a year and attained sophomore academic standing with a minimum grade-point average of 3.2. The SOU women's basketball team had five such individuals: Tiani Bradford (physical therapy major), Toria Bradford (chemistry), Autumn Durand (physical therapy), Majerle Reeves (mathematics and pre-nursing) and Demi Sahlinger (interdisciplinary studies). The Raider men were represented by five, too: Ben DeSaulnier (psychology), Tristen Holmes (chemistry), Justin Martin (business marketing), Kenny Meyer (business management) and Carson Reid (business and pre-medicine). These Raiders join 47 others from SOU's fall sports teams who were Academic All-CCC selections.
