WHITE CITY Belushi reality TV show features his Rogue River cabin Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Apr. 7, 2015 at 3:24 PM Posted Apr. 7, 2015 at 3:24 PM » Social News Actor Jim Belushi's construction of a retreat cabin along the Rogue River near White City will be the feature of an upcoming reality TV series, "Building Belushi." Belushi, who today was announced as the honorary chairman of the Holly Theatre Restoration Project in Medford, owns 13 acres of the former 1930s-era Elks picnic ground, where he's building his timber-framed house, according to DIY Network. The property is off Agate Road, about two miles north of White City. The six-episode series will follow Belushi and his contracting team as they build the house. Riverdell Construction, which builds projects in Oregon and Montana, is the contractor for the project. According to a Facebook post by Riverdell, the show is expected to air this summer. A press release posted on businesswire.com said, "In each episode, Jim learns to craft his vision to fit within the nature of the river country life, including the often unpredictable realities and set-backs of home building and renovation." "Building Belushi" joins other celebrity-themed series on DIY Network, including "I Pity the Tool" (Mr. T), "The Vanilla Ice Project" (Vanilla Ice), "Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall" (Daryl Hall), "The Shatner Project" (William Shatner) and "Rev Run’s Renovation" (Rev Run from Run DMC). “After all these years in show business, it’s time for me to build something new of my own,” Belushi said in a release from DIY Network. “This place is miles away from show business, but it’s still going to be all Belushi — raising the roof, raising hell and going rogue on the Rogue River.”       MailTribune.com Writer Posted Apr. 7, 2015 at 3:24 PM » Comment or view comments Reader Reaction » STAY INFORMED Email NewsLetter Sign Up Today Sign up for our newsletter and have the top headlines from your community delivered right to your inbox.
