Veterans event Thursday at SOU Wednesday Nov 8, 2017 at 4:30 PM Nov 8, 2017 at 4:30 PM The Veteran's Resource Center at Southern Oregon University will honor military-connected students and veterans from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Rogue River Room in the Stevenson Union, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. Jennifer Fountain, director of Student Life, will provide opening remarks, ROTC will present colors, and a special presentation will be given by keynote speaker Sgt. Eddie Shannon Black, state coordinator for the Star Behavioral Health Program, from the Center for Deployment Psychology. A free catered lunch will be provided. There will also be a chance to win a variety of door prizes from local businesses such as a Little Loopy Quilter, and gift certificates to Winchester Inn, Morning Glory and Red Lobster.
