Giving Tree event helps homeless youth By Vickie Aldous By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Dec 01, 2021 01:21 PM A A Local residents are invited to visit Medford and Grants Pass businesses to select gift tags with suggested presents for local homeless youth. The local nonprofit group Hearts With A Mission has teamed up with Medford and Grants Pass businesses to collect gifts for homeless and at-risk youth. Local residents can visit JB Steel, at 190 N. Ross Lane in Medford, Cricket Wireless Medford, at 259 E. Barnett Road, or Cricket Wireless Grants Pass, 260 N.E. Agness Ave. to select a gift tag off a Giving Tree set up at each location. Each tag has the first name, age and wish list items for a youth. Unwrapped presents should be returned to the location where the tag was selected by Dec. 13. All gifts will be picked up and wrapped Dec. 15 for distribution at Hearts With A Mission’s Youth Shelter and Transitional Living Programs. Those who would like to participate but who are unable to visit a location in person can email [email protected] . A virtual gift tag will be sent to you with drop-off and shipping instructions. Hearts With A Mission serves homeless and at-risk youth in Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lincoln counties by providing shelter, educational support, mentoring and transition planning with a faith-based approach. Many young people served by the nonprofit will be without family and loved ones this Christmas. Providing gifts through the Giving Trees will make this a memorable holiday filled with joy, according to Hearts With A Mission.
