Grace Virginia (Walker) Hill Sunday Dec 11, 2016 at 2:00 AM February 19, 1930 - November 27, 2016 Grace Virginia (Walker) Hill passed away November 27, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Ashland, Ore surrounded by her family. Grace was born February 19, 1930 to Joseph and Virginia Walker in Philadelphia, Penn. Grace graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School in 1948. Grace married John Oliver Hill in 1948, moved to San Diego, Calif., and traveled throughout the country with husband, John's U.S. Naval career, along with their seven children. They moved to Oregon in 1971 living in Rogue River and Grants Pass. While in Rogue River, she worked at the Rogue River Elementary School cafeteria making lunches for many years. Grace was a devout Catholic and was very passionate about volunteer work. She was a volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul in Grants Pass for many years. Grace loved her large family and was happiest at big gatherings. She also loved crocheting and travel. Her bags were packed and ready to go to visit family in Europe, hop on a cruise, or go visiting friends. She will be missed by many for her love and warmth for all she met. Grace is survived by her children, Karen Wagoner of Ashland, Barbara Peters of Talent, Bernadette Box of Wilderville, Michael Hill of Jacksonville, James Hill of Eagle Point, and Gerald Hill of Ashland; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John (Jack) Hill; her son, John (JJ) Hill; sister, Virginia Kendall; and grandsons, Steve Waldrop and Shon Hill. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. December 17, 2016 at St Anne Catholic Church in Grants Pass. Grace will be interred alongside her husband at Eagle Point National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. December 19, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent de Paul or Little Flower Alumni Association.
