He — was presented with the 1989 Mooers Award by the National Association of — Independent Life Brokerage Agencies. — Bill was — a long-time supporter of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and the Leukemia — Society. He was a man of varied and intense interests. He loved opera, — classical and jazz music, gourmet cooking, reading, theater, collecting — masks, travel, fine wine and good food. — He is survived — by his wife of 47 years, Carole A. Howard, and his son, Stephen P. Howard, — Lenexa, KS.
