Elephants at Oregon Zoo snack on giant pumpkins By Associated Press / Oregon Zoo footage Updated: Oct 15, 2022 01:26 PM A A Some elephants at Portland's Oregon Zoo helped usher in the Halloween season by tackling some giant pumpkins. The zoo's elephants got to play with and taste several pumpkins donated by a local grower's club. The pumpkins weighed between 300 and 800 pounds each. Big, but no match for the much larger elephants. Oregon Zoo has a tradition of sharing giant pumpkins with its elephants each fall since 1999.
