He was born October 23, 1928 to Walter and Loretta (Cameron) Briggs in Muskogee, Okla. Larry worked as a fireman and fire captain for 30 years. He married Kathryn “Kitty” Jennie November 19, 1988 in Brookings, Ore. He enjoyed fishing in the ocean and elk hunting, but especially trips to eastern Oregon. He moved to Brookings in 1984. Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Kitty, of Harbor; his children, Patricia Waller (Steve) of Selma, Ore., Charles “Nick” Briggs of Central Point, Ore., Laurence “Buzz” Briggs Jr. (Terri) of John Day, Ore., and Russel Briggs (Debbie) of Colton, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Beverly J. Richardson of Paul’s Valley, Okla. He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter L. Briggs Jr. and a grandson, Dustin Lee Briggs.
