5 New Year's Eve celebrations ScienceWorks Museum Friday Dec 30, 2016 at 12:01 AM Noon Year's Eve at ScienceWorks Museum The museum will host its fourth annual Noon Year’s Eve Celebration on Dec. 31. It's the place to be for revelers who love to party but don't want to stay up late. Make your own party hat and noise maker and share a sparkling cider toast to ring in 2017. This fun-filled day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a huge balloon drop at noon. Dancing will follow. Tickets are $10, $30 for a family, and can be purchased online at scienceworksmuseum.org or at the door. New Year’s Eve Concert A tradition since 2001, this concert will feature music for harp, horns and piano and bring together some of the Rogue Valley's finest musicians: pianists Alexander Tutunov, Joseph Yungen and Laurie Anne Hunter; harpist Celia Canty; sopranos Lindsay Panero and Jennifer Matsuura; basso Torrie Allen; flutist Debra Harris; trumpeter Bruce Dresser; and organist Margaret Evans. The show is at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at First Presbyterian Church of Ashland, 1615 Clark Ave. Look for music by such composers as George Frideric Handel, Harold Arlen, Frederic Chopin, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and John Lennon and Paul McCartney. There will be a sing-along of "Auld Lang Syne." Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. New Year's Eve Dance Party Rock 'n' roll bands Midnight Party, Sugar Monkey and Still Lookin’ will play music for dancing from 6:30 p.m. until midnight Saturday, Dec. 31, at Pioneer Hall, 73 Winburn Way, Ashland. Look for a "jam set" with performances by surprise guests. The show is open to all. Admission is $5. ZEPDRIX New Year's Eve Rock Ball Guitarist Jeff Pevar, singer Inger Nova Jorgensen, bassist Jacob Ackerman, guitarist Paul Turnipseed and Los Angeles drummer Stevie D. will perform a mix of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix hits at 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland. The Fret Drifters will open the show. Tickets are $30 in advance and can be purchased online at liveatthearmory.com, Hilltop Music Shop or Music Coop. Tickets will be $35 at the door. Rock attire is encouraged. DJ Vtech New Year's Eve Dance Las Vegas producer, vocalist, lyricist and deejay Vtech will cut, scratch and mix explosive sets of music for dancing from 9 p.m. until midnight Saturday, Dec. 31, at Chadwick's Pub in the Rogue Regency Inn, 2300 Biddle Road, Medford. There will be a champagne toast at midnight and party favors. Admission is $32.
