Bashant Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Dec. 25, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Dec. 25, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Colin Bashant, 27, a resident of Ashland, Ore. was killed in a weather related traffic accident, Saturday, December 19, 2015. Colin, and his friend Katie, were on their way to meet friends for an outdoor, climbing weekend when the accident occurred. Colin grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado, attending the Aspen Community School and Aspen High School in Carbondale, Colo. He earned a degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He played rugby for the Junior Gentlemen, played music with friends, and was an avid rock climber. After graduation, Colin returned to Carbondale, Colo. and enjoyed working at Sunsense Solar for 4 years. In March 2015, Colin relocated to Ashland, Ore. which soon became his new home. He soon found another great job in the solar industry with True South Solar and made many new friends, both at work and at the Rogue Rock Gym. Colin is survived by his father, Floyd Bashant of Glade Park, Colo.; his mother, Betsy Skszek (Tim) of Saline, Mich.; his brother, Jay (Claudia) Bashant of Buckeye, Ariz.; and his nephew, Ansel of Buckeye, Ariz. A celebration of Colin’s life will be held at a future date in Carbondale, Colo. As Colin would say, “No worries.
