When first hearing about it I thought it was going to be slot machines and no tables, but the Class II designation indicates no slots, only electronic bingo, keno and pull tabs. Can you clarify just exactly what is going to be included if this ever gets off the ground? B.C., Phoenix Well, B.C., you're right on the money with the licensing. In 2013, Coquille Tribe representatives told the Mail Tribune that the facility would be a Class II facility, hosting only electronic video games. The National Indian Gaming Act of 1988 defines three classes of gaming facilities. Class III facilities, the most heavily restricted classification, are allowed to have banking card games like blackjack as well as any mechanical or electronic games. Class II facilities can only have electronic games of chance, and Class I facilities are only allowed games with prizes of minimal value or roots in Indian traditions or ceremonies.  The facility still isn't a done deal. While the property for the proposed casino has been sold to the tribe, Roxy Ann Lanes still holds a lease on its building and plans to continue operations. The tribe is still trying to work out an agreement with the federal government to have the lands held in trust for them, a requirement for the casino to be built.
