The pair stole a wallet from a back office at Cottontail Cottage, used a credit card from the stolen wallet to make purchases at Harbor Freight Tool and Castle Superstore, and later stole cash from a safe at Haba�ero’s Mexican Restaurant, police said. The wallet theft at Cottontail Cottage, a gift shop at Harry & David’s Country Village at 1314 Center Drive, was reported about 12:30 p.m., said Medford’s detective supervisor, Sgt. Roy Skinner. Reports then came in that a couple had bought things at Harbor Freight Tool and Castle Superstore with a credit card from the wallet. At about 5 p.m., workers at Haba�ero’s reported that a large black man had entered the restaurant’s office and stolen a large amount of cash from a safe there, Skinner said. The man and a black woman had come in and were seated at a booth. "The man then went to the office, rifled through a safe and took a substantial amount of cash," Skinner said. Advertisement A surveillance camera captured images of the man. The images were of too poor a quality to reproduce in the Mail Tribune. He is about 6 feet tall, has a heavy build and short black hair. He appears to be between 20 and 30 years old, Skinner said. He was wearing a white T-shirt and light-colored pants.
