Mets The Associated Press GRANTS PASS — Former Oregon State outfielder Seth Pietsch has signed a contract with the New York Mets. The 21-year-old left for New York on Friday to play for the team’s Class A affiliate, the Brooklyn Cyclones. Pietsch, an eighth round pick in last week’s draft, got an $80,000 signing bonus with $10,000 set aside if he ever decides to go back to school and finish his degree. The 5-foot-9, 195-pound Pietsch was one of three Oregon State players selected in the draft. Beaver pitcher Ben Rowe was selected in the 24th round by the Texas Rangers and first baseman/designated hitter Levi Webber was taken in the 26th round by the St. Louis Cardinals. Advertisement Pietsch hit .348 this season for Oregon State with 12 home runs, four triples, 11 doubles and 40 RBIs.
