Rooster Crow 2009 in Rogue River Jun 26, 2009 12:00 AM A A Rooster Crow in Rogue River will feature the 56th annual National Rooster Crow, along with a human crowing contest, a parade and lots of family fun on Saturday, June 27. Rooster Crow has grown since 1953 to include three days of events. The event starts Friday, June 26, with a chicken dinner at the Rogue River Community Center and live music at the Woodville Museum bandstand. New to Rooster Crow this weekend will be the Cal-Ore River Racers' white-water race on the Rogue River on Sunday. See www.rrchamber.cc or call 582-0242. Here's the schedule of events: Friday, June 26 5 p.m. — Chicken dinner at the Rogue River Community Center 6 p.m. — Live music by River City R&B at the Woodville Museum bandstand Saturday, June 27 8 a.m. — Run/walk at Beck Field* 9 a.m. to dusk — Concessions, arts and crafts booths open 10 a.m. — Rooster Crow Weekend Parade 11 a.m. — Cal-Ore River Racers boat display at Rogue River Elementary School 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — 29th annual Rogue Valley Piecemakers Quilt Show, featuring quilting demonstrations, a silent auction and a quilt raffle, at Rogue River Middle School* 11 a.m. — Live music by Joe Holiday at the Woodville Museum bandstand 1:45 p.m. — Parade Awards, Rooster Crow arena 2 p.m. — Human Rooster Crow Contest at Rogue River Elementary School 2:30 p.m. — 56th Annual National Rooster Crow Championship at Rogue River Elementary School 3:30 p.m. — Live music by State of Jefferson at the Woodville Museum bandstand Sunday, June 28 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. — Rooster Crow Weekend Car Show at Rogue River Elementary* 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Concessions, arts and crafts booths open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — 29th annual Rogue Valley Piecemakers Quilt Show, featuring quilting demonstrations, a silent auction and a quilt raffle, at Rogue River Middle School* Noon — Cal-Ore River Racers' white-water race on the Rogue River * Requires an admission fee.
