Medford police Monday arrested Wooley on charges of possession of amphetamine, possession of contraband and for failing to appear in a third-degree theft charge. He waslodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $10,000 bail. Theft — Paul Edward Nichols, 56, of Grants Pass. Central Point police Monday arrested Nichols on charges of possession, delivery and manufacturing of amphetamines and carrying a concealed weapon. He was lodged Monday in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held Monday in lieu of $28,000 bail. Assault — Gregory Dana Stewart, 20, of the 2200 block of Siskiyou Boulevard, Ashland. Ashland police Monday arrested Stewart on charges of second-degree assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he was being held in lieu of more than $1 million bail. Crime reports Theft — 2700 block of Springbrook Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of a break-in to a business from which three laptop computers were taken. The burglary and theft, which was valued at $1,500, was reported to police at 10:02 a.m. Miscellaneous Jail releases — A total of 116 inmates were released last week from the Jackson County Jail to meet its court-ordered cap of 230 inmates. Of those, 60 were released before their scheduled court appearances, 12 were granted an early release from a sentence and 44 were released for miscellaneous reasons.
