According to a Josephine County Sheriff's Office media release, Joseph "Joey" George O'Dell, 24, reportedly dropped off his unconscious girlfriend at a home in the 7800 bock of Lower Graves Creek Road in Wolf Creek and left the area before emergency crews arrived. Police were told Caitlyn C. Strauser had drowned in Grave Creek about five miles from the Lower Graves Creek Road home. However, an autopsy performed by a state medical examiner on Tuesday determined her cause of death to be a homicide. The cause of death was not released by the sheriff's office late Tuesday. O'Dell is a longtime resident of Wolf Creek with no known address. He and Strauser were involved in a year-and-a-half-long relationship, during which it is alleged O'Dell abused her, according to the sheriff's office. O'Dell is wanted on a statewide felony warrant for failure to appear in court on an original charge for possession of methamphetamine and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He is described as a white male, standing 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
