Medford seeks citizens to serve on city boards The city of Medford is looking for residents willing to serve on city boards, commissions and committees. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Nov. 30. Applications are available in Room 312, City Hall. Interviews will be scheduled in December and appointments begin Feb. 1. For information, call City Hall, 774-2000. Residents are needed for the following committees: Budget Committee - meets in the spring to review the city's budget and make recommendations to the City Council. Urban Renewal Budget Committee - meets in the spring to review the budget for the Urban Renewal Board of Directors. Cemetery Commission - meets quarterly to advise the City Council about the operation of Eastwood Cemetery. Communications Advisory Committee - meets monthly to read comment cards and determine if the city has addressed complaints and problems. Multicultural Commission - advises the City Council on matters affecting the multicultural community. Parks and Recreation Commission - advises the City Council about acquisition and development of parks, recreation facilities and arts promotion. Planning Commission - meets regularly to make recommendations to the City Council about zoning, growth and development. Site Plan and Architectural Commission - reviews architecture, landscaping and signs. Street SDC and Street Utility Appeal Board - reviews street utility and system development charge appeals. Transient Lodging Tax Review Committee - reviews the enforcement of the transient lodging tax ordinance. Unified Appeal Board - reviews enforcement of uniform building codes, plumbing code, electrical code and the mechanical code. Must have knowledge of building field.
