Hersey St., Ashland. Admission is free. The choir comprises 27 Uganda youth who perform traditional African dance, song and drum routines. Shoebox recipient to speak to Medford churches Nanor Balabanian, who as a young girl received an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox in the war-torn Middle East, will speak to two churches Sunday, Oct. 11. Today, Balabanian has reconnected with the charity group that made such a mark on her early life, packing gift-filled shoeboxes of her own. UU Fellowship explores 'New Normal' The Rev. Nan L. Faith Lutheran hosts special needs service Faith Lutheran Church in Medford invites people with special needs to its "Jesus Cares" service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1773 S. Columbus Ave., Medford. The Worship at the Cross service follows a simplified format appropriate for people with cognitive disability, including people with forms of dementia. Pictures and symbols lead participants through the parts of the service. Simple rhythm instruments allow non-readers or those who are non-verbal to make their own joyful noise.
