Holtz powers Challengers YONCALLA - Krystle Holtz got the Cascade Christian volleyball team out of the gate fast as the Challengers cruised to a 15-3, 15-2 non-conference win over Yoncalla on Monday. Holtz served the first nine points in the Game 1 win, helping sleep-deprived Cascade avoid a possible sluggish start. The Challengers (5-0) didn't arrive home until 1 a.m. Sunday following a match at Sherman County Saturday night. "I was really pleased with the effort," said Cascade Christian coach Susan Gmur. "After that late game at Sherman County, I thought we might be a little sluggish. But we weren't." Whitney Brookins led the Challengers' 90-assist attack with 34 of her own, while Kayleen Connley picked up four kills, three blocks and a serving ace. Skyline Conference HENLEY 15-15, MAZAMA 2-1 - At Klamath Falls, Krystal Lawrence had five blocks and Lindsey English had three kills for Mazama, but Henley picked up the Skyline Conference win.
