Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Banry Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Nov. 25, 2015 at 2:00 AM Posted Nov. 25, 2015 at 2:00 AM » Social News Elizabeth J. “Betty” Banry passed away November 21, 2015 at Fern Gardens Memory Care. She was born April 12, 1924 in Bishop, Calif. to Arthur Enock and Lela Valetta Shoemaker. Betty married Nathan Alfred Banry Sr. July 26, 1941. She was a homemaker, caring for her children, most of her life but spent seven years as secretary at Patrick Elementary School in Gold Hill, Ore. She served and was very faithful, in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was always of service to others and those less fortunate. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, and volunteering her time to any in need. Betty is survived by her sons, Nathan, Clayton, and Gordon Banry; her daughters, Rebecca Hicks and Gwendolyn Burton; 23 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and countless friends within her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers. A chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (corner of Grant and Taylor Roads) Central Point, Ore. with Bishop Terry Clement officiating. In lieu of flowers, it would please Betty if you would make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
